The American Industrial Hygiene Association in partnership with General Electric will present “Measurements of Hazardous Substances,” part of a series of internationally developed and peer reviewed training modules at the GE China Technology Center, in Shanghai China.

Developed in accordance with the international module syllabus W501–Measurement of Hazardous Substances, the goal of this course is to provide students with a sound understanding of the techniques for assessing exposure to hazardous substances in the workplace and with an understanding of how exposure information can be used to assess risk,” according to a statement published in the AIHA magazine The Synergist.

Students will have the opportunity to explore case studies, review occupational chemical health risk assessment, perform atmospheric monitoring and measure airborne contaminants.

Plus, they will be equipped with skills for selecting appropriate equipment and creating a sampling strategy they can apply in their own practice.

This new course will be limited to 25 participants; include lectures and hands on demonstrations taught in Mandarin; and provide e-handouts (in English)
