The International Labor Organization is reviewing for adoption a draft code on workplace stress and violence, which it calls "a threat to productivity and decent work."

The code would not replace any national regulations, standards or laws. It's considered a technical guidance document.

ILO's workplace stress and violence code defines roles and responsibilities of governments, employers, unions and the public; and it emphasizes policies, training and workplace monitoring. It is specifically targeted at service-type businesses.
