Slate Rock Safety: one of the Midwest’s fastest-growing companies

May 4, 2015
Slate Rock Safety, LLC, Medina, Ohio, an ecommerce retailer and distributor specializing in safety clothing, was listed in Case Western Reserve’s The Weatherhead 100, an award that celebrates innovative success and recognizes the region’s fastest-growing companies.

Slate Rock Safety earned no. 12 on the list, due to its 579.01% growth from 2009 to 2013. The substantial growth is fueled by Slate Rock Safety Outfitters, a uniform purchase program created from market need and recognized for its innovation. By using industry-leading technology for web-based applications developed in-house and by personally supporting customers with an account management team, Outfitters positions Slate Rock Safety for continued strong growth in the safety apparel market.

In 2014, for the seventh straight year, Slate Rock Safety achieved at least double-digit growth.

“It is an amazing feeling to come to work each day and realize we’re providing essential protection for the American worker,” said Kim Wilson, president. “Slate Rock Safety prides itself on its fiercely customer-centric culture and unique organizational chart, which is drafted to have each department in the company revolve around the customer. Each one of us plays a role in listening to our customers and making sure their unique needs are met. One of the unique things about us is our ability to quickly adapt to the changing needs of our customers.

“Outfitters allows us to offer an easy-to-use uniform catalog program to our customers without the standard lengthy contracts,” said Wilson. She added, “The entire team realizes that without a contract the customer can leave at any time, which means every order and every customer interaction matters. It is important to me that none of our employees ever take our customers for granted. It is a company value that is deep-rooted within our culture.” She concluded by saying, “2015 is all about the opportunity for all of us at Slate Rock Safety to build upon our promise to our customers to provide the best service possible.”

Outfitters more than doubled in size in 2014. Features that are supplying consistent growth include proprietary technology adaptable to customer needs, a broad range of product offerings, full customization, and support from a dedicated account manager with no contract or maintenance fees.
