3M mobile training center brings new resource to health and safety professionals

Mobile platform conveniently delivers personal safety best practices and education to workers

June 11, 2015

If your job requires wearing or specifying health and safety equipment, you have a convenient new resource with the 3M Safety Roadshow. 3M is hitting the road in its mobile training center – packed with personal protective equipment and industry experts – to deliver in-person education at work sites, industry events and distributor trade shows across the United States.

The Safety Roadshow is a hub of 3M personal protective equipment and learning – contained in a 48-foot specially equipped tractor trailer. The Safety Roadshow offers in-person safety education and demonstrations on topics including:

  • Metalworking Hazards
  • Practical Solutions to Reduce Eye Injuries
  • Preventing Hearing Loss
  • Fall Protection Basics for Workers and Managers
  • Introduction to Respiratory Protection
  • Respiratory Hazards During Unconventional Oil and Gas Extraction
  • Managing Heat Stress
  • Mitigating Construction Hazards
  • Myths of Reflectivity
  • Escape and Rescue Made Easy
  • Eyewear and Hearing Protection Fitting

“This roadshow is the ultimate training experience as it provides a one-stop shop for all 3M personal protective equipment,” said Joe Hocket, segment marketing manager, 3M. “What’s more is that 3M comes right to your front door and offers an interactive experience to help enhance your training program.”

The roadshow is ideal for groups of 75-200 people, including industrial hygienists, safety and plant professionals, business owners, engineers, instructors, and PPE users. Attendees can select from a variety of 45-minute seminars and 30-minute demonstrations, with most schedules averaging two hours total of interactive instruction. At the end of an educational seminar, participants can receive a certificate of attendance.

3M offers a comprehensive, diverse portfolio of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) solutions providing respiratory protection, hearing protection, fall protection, reflective materials for high-visibility apparel, protective clothing, protective eyewear, head and face protection, welding helmets, and other adjacent products and solutions, such as tactical safety equipment, detection, monitoring equipment, and active communications equipment.
