WilgardWildeck showcased its new Wilgard family of protective guard rail in booth No. 920 at the ASSE Safety 2016 Conference and Exposition, June 26-29 at Georgia World Conference Center in Atlanta.

Founded in 1976, Wildeck is the largest manufacturer of industrial steel work platforms (mezzanines), VRCs and safety guarding products designed for numerous applications and industries.

Many facilities require different levels of protection, which is why Wildeck now offers three types of guard rail systems, each rated to provide a level of impact protection ideally suited to meet specific safety and budget needs. The three products are:

Wilgard®XT(Xtra Tough): Tested for 13,000 pound impact traveling at 4 mph. 10” safe zone behind rails; recommended for applications involving heavy fork lift traffic.

Wilgard®MT(Medium Toughness): Tested for 10,000 pound impact traveling at 4 mph. 11” safe zone; positioned to compete against other medium grade guard rail at a competitive price.

Wilgard®LT(Lighter Toughness): Ideal for light-duty guarding of work areas and walkways, finished goods stage areas and other similar applications; provides high value at a lower price point.

Attendees will be able to get an up-close look and feel of all three styles of guard rail, and learn which type is best for their application and needs.

“Wildeck is the clear industry leader when it comes to the engineering, design and performance of protective guard rail, and our new Wilgard family is a testament to that,” said Hubert A. Schlegel, Director of Marketing, Wildeck. “Selecting the right guard rail for a specific application can be a frustrating, time-consuming endeavor. Wildeck has solved the problem by offering more guard rail choices than any other U.S. manufacturer; all available through one experienced and highly-regarded network of material handling dealers and systems integrators nationwide.”

In addition, Wildeck will be demonstrating its patent-pending EdgeAlert™ Open Gate Alarm, which is a valuable safety device that can help reduce accidents and OSHA violations by warning when elevated mezzanine platform gates are inadvertently left open. An open gate on an elevated mezzanine level is a serious safety concern that could result in an employee falling and sustaining severe injury, including broken bones, lacerations or even death. When properly installed, the EdgeAlert™ alarm will signal an open gate condition with a highly visible flashing light and a loud audible alarm.

Wildeck will also be exhibiting the Rolastair Mobile Ladder with StepLock, and the JiffyRail Mezzanine Platform Handrail from Ladder Industries, a subsidiary of Wildeck, Inc. The Rolastair access ladders are Ladder Industries’ most versatile mobile ladder stands, and are ideal for unlimited audiences and industries, including aerospace, contractors, manufacturing, material handling, construction and many others.

Additionally, the JiffyRail Mezzanine Platform Handrail provides high level protection on elevated surfaces. The JiffyRail will be outfitted with an EdgeAlert Open Gate Alarm System. ASSE Safety 2016 attendees can also learn about other Wildeck material handling products in booth No. 920; Wildeck will have a scale model showing typical integration of its mezzanine platform, protective guard rail and vertical reciprocating conveyor (VRC).

Wildeck, Inc. – based in Waukesha, WI - is the largest manufacturer of mezzanines, vertical lifts (VRCs), guarding, and safe access products in North America. Wildeck products and those of its subsidiary, Ladder Industries in Goodyear, AZ, are used for the safe and efficient handling, storage, protection, and access of materials and personnel.
