According to results of ISHN’s 17th Annual White Paper survey, 29 percent of safety and health pros predict complying with a final OSHA ergonomics standard will be “not at all difficult”, while almost an equal number (27 percent) say it will be “very difficult.” Thirty-seven percent believe compliance will be “somewhat difficult”, and seven percent don’t know how they will fare.
While almost three out of every ten safety and health pros predict compliance headaches, only 19 percent say they will need to hire an ergonomics consultant to comply with requirements.
Forty percent of the survey respondents say ergonomics will be a top safety and health priority in 2001, according to the survey.
