PeakFit® N95 respirator from Gateway Safety designed for customizable fit, comfort, and wearability

February 28, 2014

PeakFitGateway Safety presents the revolutionary PeakFit® N95, an exceptionally comfortable and easily adjustable respirator designed to improve worker compliance through its unique design and custom fit features.

Fit matters with respiratory protection because a poor fit—or non-compliance because of poor fit—can lead to serious long-term health consequences. Respirators protect the user from harmful airborne contaminants, but only if the fit is correct and they are worn regularly. PeakFit is a NIOSH-approved N95 air-purifying respirator with special options to fit more people better and more comfortably, so workers will be more likely to put on a respirator and keep it on.

“Wearer compliance depends heavily on comfort,” said Katie Mielcarek, Gateway Safety’s Marketing Manager. “And PeakFit, available in both vented and unvented models, is ideal for promoting habit-forming safe work practices.”

The disposable PeakFit N95 respirator from Gateway Safety offers a true one-size-fits-all configuration because of its custom adjustability. The integrated, one-piece cloth head strap, with an adjustable clasp, is fully adaptable to fit any head size and is more durable than typical stapled versions. Moreover, the intuitive design of the strap allows users to fine-tune the fit for optimal comfort, regardless of the respirator’s position on the face and cheeks. This variable positioning for any face size is made possible by PeakFit’s internal cushion. Made with soft, closed-cell foam, the cushion conforms to the user’s face, creating a close but comfortable seal. The nose bridge, a notoriously tricky area for fit, is especially easy to adjust on PeakFit. Its molded, non-metal contoured design also eliminates pinching. Wearers will find ample room not only for eye protection, but also for unobstructed breathing and speaking.

PeakFit, a NIOSH-approved N95 air-purifying respirator, is available in four versions: both vented and unvented PeakFit (filtration against aerosols free of oils below PEL*); vented PeakFit OV (additional filtration against aerosols free of organic vapors below PEL*); and unvented PeakFit AG (additional filtration against aerosols free of organic vapors and acid gases below PEL*).

*PEL = Permissible Exposure Limit.
