In every profession there is reality and the perception of the reality thrust upon us on a daily basis. Our Oil and Gas industry is littered with statements, idioms and ideas about how we should discuss and market health and safety to our personnel.

Examples of hard skills include job skills like typing, writing, math, reading and the ability to use software programs; soft skills are personality-driven skills like etiquette, getting along with others, listening and engaging in small talk.”

This list is by no means expansive of all the great qualities a successful safety professional possesses. However, it is a good start and it will point you in the right direction. They Won’t Act Like A Cop. It is fair to say that this is number one on the list.
