ISO 45001, finalized in 2018, replaces a previous standard, OHSAS 18001, which was developed by auditors as a health and safety complement to quality and environmental standards (ISO 9001 and ISO 14001). ISO 45001 is a conformance standard, intended for use with third-party certification.
Mobile elevated work platforms, such as boom and scissor lifts, are powerful, durable and useful machines that help workers perform a wide range of tasks at height. Training on the safe use of these machines is crucial to decrease the risk of injuries, property damage, liability on the worksite.
Laboratory customers, regulatory authorities, organizations and schemes using peer-assessment, accreditation bodies, and others use ISO/IEC 17025:2017 to confirm or recognize the competence of laboratories. The standard promotes confidence in the operation of laboratories.

ISO 45001 is the number given to ISO’s effort to create a standard for an occupational safety and health management system. This project is well underway, but before the status update, let me begin with some background on occupational safety and health management systems.
The New Work Item Proposal (NWIP) for development of an ISO Occupational Health and Safety Management System standard has been approved. A new ISO Project Committee, PC 283, has been established to develop the standard. BSI has been appointed as secretariat.
