Worker at Macy's dies in box compactor accident

An employee died in an apparent workplace accident Wednesday morning at a Macy's store in Yonkers, New York, according to News 12 Westchester. Dimitri Henry reportedly became caught in a box compactor and was crushed. Henry was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx where he later died.

The incident occurred before the store was open for business. Macy's corporate offices released a statement saying, "The incident in our Cross County [Yonkers] store was a tragic accident. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Henry's family and co-workers. At this time, we are conducting an investigation into the situation and working with the authorities."

Police and OSHA are investigating exactly what happened.
