Global Petroleum Show 2012 returns to Calgary -- bigger than ever

More than 60,000 attendees and exhibitors expected from 95 countries

Convention NewsThe Global Petroleum Show (GPS) 2012 will kick off in the energy capital of Canada, Calgary, Alberta, on Tuesday, June 12 and run through Thursday, June 14 at Stampede Park.

GPS is recognized as the meeting place for the global oil and gas industry and is the largest energy event in Canada and one of the largest in the world. Held every two years, the event has expanded to include more exhibition space to meet demand and early indicators reveal that attendance is up significantly over 2010.

GPS will host over 60,000 registered attendees from 95 different countries worldwide and will feature more than 2,000 exhibiting companies showcasing the latest technologies available for the oil and gas industry.

Featured events:

• Opening Night Reception with an authentic taste of Canada: activities include curling, bobsledding, cross country skiing, hockey and more.

• International Energy Leaders Forum: International industry leaders will discuss a variety of significant topics including global supply and demand, enhancing recovery, and sustainability.

• Global Energy Career Expo (held in conjunction with Global Petroleum Show): 6,000 candidates are expected to attend to find out about careers in the industry with leading oil and gas companies.
