Gorbel Inc. is enhancing its line of Tether Track™ Rigid Rail Fall Arrest Systems with standardized system configurations to better serve customers in industries that need to protect employees from falls. The new configurations include Swing Arm, Fold Away and Freestanding Monorail systems and will be available later in 2012.

“We launched Ceiling Mounted Bridge and Monorail Rigid Rail Fall Arrest Systems in 2007 and have been engineering custom systems since then,” said Jeff McNeil, Gorbel’s marketing manager. “The new systems fulfill a wide range of our customer applications from rail yards to airplane hangars and, because they are standardized, we will offer competitive pricing and the fastest lead times in the industry.”

Gorbel Tether Track Fall Arrest Systems are available in multiple configurations, including multiple track profiles and support center distances, making fall protection easily customizable and cost effective. The foundation of the Tether Track systems is the enclosed track, exclusively engineered for easy movement. The enclosed track keeps dirt and dust from settling on the rolling surface, allowing the trolley to move smoothly, and remain centered directly over the worker creating a shorter fall distance and reducing the risk of swing fall injuries.

“Gorbel Tether Track Fall systems deliver unmatched ease of positioning and movement,” continued McNeil. “Together these benefits all equal the safest and most productive rigid rail fall arrest solution available today and all of our systems come with Gorbel’s industry-leading customer support.”

The Gorbel family of standardized Tether Track Rigid Rail Fall Arrest Systems will include:

Tether Track systems are a reliable, cost-effective way to reduce the risk of injury in elevated work environments. Compared to wire rope systems, Gorbel’s Tether Track systems deliver: shorter free fall distances; reduced risk of secondary fall injures, such as swinging into obstacles; longer distances between support centers; and no negative impact on a second worker in the event of a fall. Tether Track systems also stop falls sooner than a wire rope system by eliminating sag, and the systems provide effective protection in low headroom applications by reducing the fall distance.

Gorbel rigid rail systems are designed by qualified engineers to exceed the OSHA 1926 Subpart M Construction standard, as well as ANSI Z359 Fall Protection Code.
