MoreOSHA has added the American Chemical Society (ACS) to its alliance with the Chemical Reactivity Hazards Management group. ACS will be included in the group, which consists of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency; American Chemistry Council; Center for Chemical Process Safety; Chlorine Institute Inc.; Mary Kay O'Connor Process Safety Center; National Association of Chemical Distributors; and Synthetic Organic Chemical Manufacturers Association.
The alliance, originally signed in March 2004, focuses on OSHA and the organizations working together to provide those involved in the manufacture, distribution, use and storage of chemicals with information, guidance and access to training resources to protect communities' and employees' health and safety through better identification and management of chemical reactivity hazards.
ACS is a self-governed individual membership organization with more than 158,000 members in all fields of chemistry, including chemists, chemical engineers and allied professionals.
