MoreThe American Industrial Hygiene Association® (AIHA) is now accepting presentation proposals for the 2010 American Industrial Hygiene Conference and Exposition (AIHce), May 22–27, 2010, in Denver, Colorado, according to an AIHA press release. AIHce, cosponsored by AIHA and ACGIH®, is the premier conference for occupational and environmental health and safety (OEHS) professionals. Submissions must be made electronically at www.aihce2010.org by October 5, 2009.
AIHce 2010 is seeking potential presenters to kick off this year’s theme of “New Frontiers in Science and Practice” and provide fresh, dynamic solutions to today’s challenges — new standards and regulations, technological innovations, international security issues, and expanding practice areas. At AIHce 2010, participants will represent a wide variety of interests, including industrial hygiene, environmental health, safety, engineering, consulting, general business management, and much more.
Presenters may choose from the following presentation formats: (1) podium abstracts – oral presentations limited to 20 minutes, which may be accompanied by slides; (2) poster abstracts – visual displays on fiberboard (poster sessions include a two-hour period when the author is in attendance to answer questions); (3) environmental health and safety (EHS) crossover programs – 60-minute presentations sharing practical information on nonindustrial hygiene topics such as safety and environmental issues; and (4) roundtables – sessions submitted in their entirety that either cover both sides of a controversial issue or provide extensive information on a single subject.
There is no fee to submit a presentation proposal.
Presenters at AIHce 2010 earn certification maintenance (CM) points to obtain and maintain professional certifications. Because AIHce uses a peer-reviewed selection process, any presenter of a podium, EHS crossover program, or poster session of at least 20 minutes will receive one CM point.
