The National Safety Council announces the keynote presentations for the 2025 NSC Safety Congress & Expo, Sept. 15-17 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, CO. The conference will feature safety leaders, innovators and industry visionaries.

Keynotes include:

Decision-Making to Win at the Game of Life
Opening Keynote

Four-time Olympian Chaunté Lowe uses stories from her own experiences as an athlete and breast cancer thriver, engaging activities and empowering exercises to equip attendees with an arsenal of tools to support impeccable decision-making.

From Reactive to Proactive: Advancing EHS Performance Through Leading Indicators ASTM Standards
The Campbell Forum

The Campbell Forum brings together EHS leaders to discuss transforming workplace safety from reactive to proactive strategies. The session explores new standards for preventing Serious Incidents and Fatalities (SIFs) and using leading indicators to embed prevention into safety systems.

Safety is a Shared Responsibility
Occupational Keynote

Acting Assistant Secretary for OSHA Amanda Wood Laihow discusses common safety challenges for workers and the role of American employers in addressing them. Following her keynote remarks, she will join NSC CEO Lorraine Martin for a fireside chat.

Engaged, Aligned, Accountable: Leading People Safely During Times of Tremendous Change
Leadership Keynote

Brian Fielkow offers practical strategies safety leaders can use to drive enterprise-wide engagement, foster employee ownership and align the C-suite with frontline operations. He demonstrates how to connect safety to business outcomes, build accountability at every level and position safety as a competitive advantage.

Bringing Impossible Ideas to Life
Closing Keynote

Chris Barton, founder of Shazam, helps audiences imagine and create new visions. His astonishing stories about creating Shazam show how innovation doesn’t just come from an idea, but from a series of insights to overcome obstacles along the way.

"This year's exciting keynote speakers bring perspectives that extend far beyond traditional safety approaches," said Lorraine Martin, NSC CEO. "Whether it's learning resilience from an Olympic champion and cancer thriver, exploring innovation with the creator of Shazam, or discussing shared responsibility with federal safety leaders, these sessions will challenge attendees to think differently about how we create safer workplaces and communities. We look forward to bringing together these diverse voices with thousands of safety professionals in Denver this September."

Professional development seminars take place Sept. 12-14 and 17-18, and the Congress & Expo takes place Sept. 15-17. For full keynote descriptions and to learn more, visit congress.nsc.org.
