OSHA has made another friend in the Big Apple. The agency,
and the New York City Department of Design and Construction (DDC) announced
they have formed an alliance to address construction hazards in the city’s five
boroughs.
Under the alliance, according to an agency release, OSHA and DDC will cross-train their inspectors and managers on each agency’s construction safety standards, regulations and procedures. The training will focus on the most common construction hazards likely to cause accidents, injuries and deaths. The two agencies also will share information about safety best practices, and participate in forums, seminars and other events focusing on construction safety and health.
