MoreDuPont was ordered by a West Virginia court in early March to pay $6.4 million to the family of a man who died after being exposed as a child to asbestos fibers carried home on his father's work clothes.
Leonard Dale Cox never worked with asbestos, but his father, Cecil Cox, installed asbestos insulation at DuPont's Belle plant from the 1940s until he retired in the 1970s, according to a report in The New York Times. Leonard Cox died from mesothelioma, a fatal lung disease, in 2000.
