NSC puts out call for applications for Campbell Award (1/17)

The National Safety Council last week announced that organizations worldwide are invited to participate in the 2008 Robert W. Campbell Award, a prestigious international award for business excellence through environmental, safety and health (EHS) management.

The Campbell Award honors corporations that make EHS integral to their business models, resulting in growth and financial performance. Submissions must demonstrate how measurable EHS achievement is linked to business success.

Strategies and lessons learned from winning companies are showcased at conferences year-round, earning international recognition. In the spirit of education, and to influence business leaders, winning submissions are developed into academic-grade business case studies.

Companies compete in two size categories. Category I organizations employ more than 1,000 people; Category II organizations employ up to 1,000. Award reviewers are selected by the award’s global partners.

2008 winners will be announced at the National Safety Council’s 96th Annual Congress & Expo in Anaheim, Calif., Sept. 19-26. The Campbell Award is developed by the National Safety Council, underwritten by Exxon Mobil Corporation, and supported by a network of global partners that provide worldwide outreach.

Submissions are due by May 31, 2008. Submittal requirements and further information are available at www.CampbellAward.org or CampbellAward@nsc.org.
