OSHA to hold online webchats about proposed regs

Want a sneak peek at rules that federal regulatory agencies are planning to pass in 2011? Just go online. Officials at seven U.S. Department of Labor agencies will discuss their upcoming regulatory agenda in live web chats and one conference call during the first week of January, according to an OSHA media advisory.  The web chats are open to the public and will take place from Jan. 4-7.

Published December 20 in the Federal Register and available online at www.dol.gov/asp/regs/agenda.htm, the regulatory agenda lists all of the regulations the department expects to have under active consideration during the coming six-to-12-month period.

An Employee Benefits Security Administration web chat will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 4 from 2-3 p.m. EST.

There will be a Mine Safety and Health Administration conference call on Wedneday, Jan. 5 at 10:30 a.m. EST. The call-in number is 800-619-3527 and the passcode is 49374.

An OSHA web chat will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 5 from 2:30-3:30 p.m. EST.

Additional web chats will involve the Employee and Training Administration, the Wage and Hour division, the Office of Labor Management-Standards and the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs.

To participate in the web chats, go to: http://www.dol.gov/regulations. The department's archives page at www.dol.gov/regulations/archive.htm has information on spring 2010 Q&A sessions.
