studentStudents majoring in environmental health have until Feb. 15 to apply for a Summer 2012 internship with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Summer Program in Environmental Health (SUPEH) is a 10-week summer environmental internshipthat allows students to gain EH experience and an understanding of EH work at the local, state, regional, tribal, and federal levels.

Interns will develop mentoring relationships with federal employees working in the environmental health field, and shadow senior officials and scientists, spend time in local public health departments.Their internship may involve traveling to important environmental health sites in the city of Atlanta and beyond as well as attending brown-bag lunches with CDC staff to discuss environmental health topics.

SUPEH interns receive a weekly stipend of approximately $600 for living expenses. Interns are responsible for the cost of travel to and from Atlanta and for housing during the internship.
