Ergodyne adds tape measure and power tool traps to their Objects at Heights Collection

June 24, 2015

Ergodyne announced today the addition of two new solutions within their Objects at Heights Collection: the Squids® 3780S/3780L Power Tool Trap and Squids® 3770 Tape Measure Trap. Both solutions give popular but difficult to tether objects, like cordless power tools and tape measures, a convenient and secure attachment point for tethering at height.

"Objects that are always on the jobsite like tape measures and cordless power tools absolutely need to be tethered," said Nate Bohmbach, senior product manager and DROPS members at Ergodyne. "Our mission is to make tethering these kind of tools easier and convenient so the worker won't skip it when loading up before a climb."

The Squids® 3780 Power Tool Trap (available in both small and large sizes) securely wraps around the battery portion of drills, impact drivers, and other cordless power tools while boasting a fully cast D-ring connection point to safely and easily attach a lanyard. Unlike other retrofit connection points on the market, the 3780 utilizes an additional slot on the side of the trap to accommodate the belt hook on any power tool allowing the worker to utilize if desired.

The Squids® 3770 Tape Measure Trap securely wraps around most standard tape measures and also boasts a fully cast D-ring connection point to safely and easily attach a lanyard. Uniquely designed to fit almost any size tape measure, the adjustable hook and loop straps accommodate 16ft. (4.9m), 25ft (7.6m), 30ft (9.1m), and even 35ft (10.7m) tape measures.

"We're leaders in the emerging risk category of Objects at Heights," said Tom Votel, president and CEO, Ergodyne. "Our line is constantly growing as we continue to innovate the best possible solutions for folks working sky high."

Ideal for those working at heights or where FME (Foreign Material Exclusion) or FOD (Foreign Object Damage/Debris) are a concern, the Squids® 3780S/3780L Power Tool Trap and Squids® 3770 Tape Measure Trap are available now at all authorized Ergodyne distributors. For more information on where to buy, visit www.ergodyne.com or call 800.225.8238 // +1 651.642.9889.
