Master Lock Safety Solutions introduces new lockout device, services and more at the 2015 National Safety Council Congress & Expo

September 23, 2015

Master Lock Safety Solutons™ (booth 1539) will introduce its new Blind Flange Lockout Device and offer a “one-stop shop” for all other Safety products, services and resources at the 2015 National Safety Council Expo, September 28-30 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.

“The new Blind Flange Lockout Device is the latest example of how we’ve been an industry leader in innovation and solution-based lockout devices. We’re proud that it’s a best-in-class solution for pipeline maintenance,” said Matt Dudgeon, Master Lock’s Global Safety Product Manager. “We’re also excited to showcase our comprehensive padlocks, devices, services and resources to attendees.”

In 2014, Master Lock had an outstanding response at NSC in San Diego and challenged itself to provide attendees in Atlanta with “everything lockout” and more. Last year, the company introduced the Master Lock Confined Space Covers in addition to the new Professional Lockout Services group. The industry response has been overwhelming.

To support awareness, the company partnered with safety advocate, speaker and expert, Kina Repp, to share her story. Ms. Repp survived a tragic workplace accident 25 years ago while working a summer job in Alaska. She now visits manufacturing facilities and local safety events to educate employees on the importance of workplace safety, and conducts speaking engagements to deliver a powerful and inspirational message.

The Blind Flange Lockout Device is an adjustable device that ensures a tight and proper fit. It is manufactured from durable aluminum with a hardened steel slide bar for indoor and outdoor use in temperatures ranging from -40°F to 200°F. It adapts to multiple flanged pipe applications and fully conceals the flange nuts to prevent access to the blind until all of the work is completed. With four locking holes, multiple workers can apply their padlock to the device at the same time. The Blind Flange Lockout Device is available in three sizes to cover and lockout nut diameters from 3/4” to 2-3/4”.

Master Lock’s Professional Lockout Services group of experts has an unrivaled understanding of Lockout/Tagout and procedure writing. Their knowledge helps make facilities become fully compliant through systematic audits of visual lockout procedures and written processes. NSC visitors are encouraged to stop by the booth and pose questions to team members.

Complimentary Field iD access is provided for one year when a facility has Master Lock Professional Lockout Services write lockout procedures. Master Lock Field iD is a leading mobile and web-based safety compliance software. It is designed to help increase workplace safety, reduce liability and eliminate the hassles that exist with paper-based safety management. Master Lock representatives will conduct demonstrations of Field iD in the booth.

Master Lock Confined Space Covers can increase workplace safety and reduce liability by providing required signage and effective barrier protection. Three models - ventilated/non-lockable, ventilated/lockable and non-ventilated/lockable covers - are available in four different sizes (Small to X-Large), and they exceed the OSHA 29CFR 1910.146 standard for Permit Required Confined Space requirements.
