150 KVA step-down power distribution system released by Larson Electronics

October 23, 2015

With over 40 years as a leader in the industrial and commercial lighting industry, Larson Electronics continues its commitment to providing high grade lighting equipment to specialty markets with the release of a heavy duty 3-phase power distribution system.

The MGS-3X480.60A-150K-3X208.60A-12X120 power distribution system from Larson Electronics gives operators the ability to plug in three 60 amp 480 volt devices into the primary panel. On the secondary side of the system, operators can plug in twelve 20 amp 120 volt devices and three 60 amp 208 volt devices. This power distribution system provides a safe and reliable way for operators to tap into and utilize power sources independently of the work area. On the primary side, a 400 amp main breaker 480 volt panel provides protection for three 480 volt rated, 60 amp, 3 pole 4 wire pin and sleeve style receptacles with weatherproof covers and the 150 KVA transformer. On the secondary side of this system, a 400 amp main breaker 120/208Y panel provides protection for twelve 125 volt, 20 amp, GFI protected outlets with weatherproof covers and three 250 volt rated, 60 amp, 3 pole 4 wire pin and sleeve receptacles.

The transformer and load assembly is mounted on a 3/16” thick carbon steel mounting platform and the load center and distribution assembly is mounted to the standard 2” by 2” by 1/8” square carbon steel tubing frame, resulting in an extremely stable, durable, and well protected power distribution platform. This unit is equipped with forklift skid pockets, locking polyurethane casters, and a top located lifting eyelet that allows for easy lifting with cable or chain hooks. This transformer is grounded to the frame and a grounding lug is provided for earth grounding. This power distribution system is ideal for indoor and outdoor use for applications such as plant maintenance, construction sites, exhibits, and shipyards.

“All of our power distribution systems can be customized with stainless steel, hot dip galvanized steel, or aluminum based on customer specifications,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larsonelectronics.com. “These systems are ruggedly constructed to withstand demanding conditions and heavy duty industrial applications.”

Larson Electronics carries an extensive line of LED light towers, portable power distribution systems, explosion proof lights for hazardous locations, portable work lights and industrial grade LED area lights.
