TDIndustries partners with Lone Star Safety & Supply to create job site water container cleaning kits

June 7, 2016

TDIndustries (TD) is utilizing an inventive new Water Container Cleaning Kit that was developed in cooperation with Lone Star Safety & Supply. The kit was designed to ensure that TDPartners have the tools necessary to clean job site water containers and provide safe drinking water to our field Partners.

The kit was launched during our Safety Week 2016 campaign (May 2-6) and reflects one of TD’s core values: To Fiercely Protect the Safety of All Partners. TD and Lone Star Safety created the kit to address industry-wide concerns about the risk of germ and bacteria growth in water containers. Until now, there hasn’t been a standardized kit for cleaning water containers available through safety suppliers, but the TD/Lone Star Safety water kit utilizes food industry-grade quality tools which allow our Partners onsite to complete a cleaning and documenting process that takes five minutes or less to perform successfully.

Each kit includes a food grade water hose, measuring cup, baking soda, waterproof tape, powder free nitrile gloves, a carrying bag, three brushes and a mesh bag for brush storage that allows the brush to dry and remain sanitary. Partners have been provided with a training video created by TDIndustries to demonstrate the kit’s quick and reliable use on construction jobsites and in manufacturing shops.

“Ensuring our Partners have fresh and clean water is crucial, especially during the summer months,” says Cameron Williams, Safety Manager at TD. “I believe having these kits with the tools needed to accomplish this task readily available will simplify the cleaning process on a day-to-day basis.”

Lone Star Safety & Supply, a local minority-owned company, has been providing TD with safety equipment for several years. “Lone Star Safety has worked with TDIndustries on several kit projects, from fall protection kits to electrical and lock out tag out kits and Arc Flash kits,” says Pam Smithson, Inside Sales Manager at Lone Star. “Our goal is to help keep all Partners and business units as safe as possible. With all kits we develop with TDIndustries, our main objective is safety.”
