About 50 poultry workers, union leaders and religious leaders demonstrated outside Perdue Farm, Inc.'s chicken processing plant in Georgetown, Md., earlier this week, alleging company officials have verbally and physically abused the 1,460 non-unionized workers at the plant, according to the Associated Press. They claimed that workers threatening to call OSHA about conditions at the plant, including allegations that employees are not allowed to go to the bathroom, have been fired.

Tita Cherrier, Perdue spokeswoman, told AP the company dismissed the allegations as falsehoods by those trying to unionize the plant. "Of course we let our people go to the bathroom," she said.
