Revealing the bad actors
A federal judge has ordered OSHA to disclose for the first time the company names and worker injury / illness rates of 13,000 workplaces with the worst safety records.
These are the firms OSHA notifies by mail of their high injury / illness rates to prod safety improvements.
The ruling, in response to a New York Times Freedom of Information Act request, applies only to injury figures for 2002.
