Wiley X, ® Inc. stands behind National Safety Month this June

Together with National Safety Council, Wiley X reminds people to practice safety 24/7

Leading premium protective eyewear manufacturer Wiley X, ® Inc. is once again supporting National Safety Month, a four-week awareness and education campaign of the National Safety Council that runs throughout June 2012.

“Education is the most important step towards reducing accidental injuries and deaths across our great country,” said Wiley X Co-Owner Myles Freeman, Jr.  “Annual programs such as National Safety Month highlight the fact that many accidents and injuries are preventable with proper education, training and equipment. We support these efforts of the National Safety Council and will continue to make promoting vision safety a key focus of our company,” added Freeman.

This year, the theme of National Safety Month is Safety 24/7, and will stress the importance of extending safe practices to both workplace and home life. Each week in June the National Safety Council will feature educational and informational efforts focused on four key subjects: Employee Wellness, Ergonomics, Preventing Slips, Trips and Falls, and Driving Safety.

This year’s Safety 24/7 theme fits well with Wiley X’s product line and the company’s ongoing commitment to serious vision protection for every aspect of American life.  “Our eyes face a variety of daily dangers whether we’re at work or at play, yet we often take vision protection too lightly. The time to think about protecting the precious gift of sight is before an accident happens. We like to think that by providing premium vision protection that is stylish enough and comfortable enough that workers will actually want to wear it, we’re playing an important role in keeping Americans safe from injury,” added Freeman.

For more than 25 years, Wiley X has specialized in eyewear that protects the wearer’s vision in dangerous and challenging environments. Wiley X is a leading provider of vision protection systems for law enforcement and U.S. Armed Forces in action around the world.
It also offers a full line of Safety Series eyewear models — including its breakthrough Climate Control™ Series featuring the patented, removable soft foam Facial Cavity™ seal — developed to protect wearers engaged in potentially dangerous activities indoors or out.

Wiley X is the only premium performance sunglasses brand whose entire line meets the stringent ANSI Z87.1-2003 High Velocity and High Mass Impact Safety standards — so everybody who wears Wiley X receives this same advanced protection, whether working on the line, operating a power drill or just walking on the beach. Several models provide an even higher level of protection, meeting the military’s updated GL-PD 10-12 Standard for ballistic eye protection.  Most models are also prescription ready, making them ideal, no-compromise safety gear for men and women who require corrective lenses.
