Honeywell Safety Products introduces new HW100 and HW200 ADF Welding Helmets with shade 9-13 protection

Innovative design combines the safety and performance of auto-darkening filters with superior comfort for increased productivity

July 16, 2013

Honeywell Safety Products' HW100 and HW200 auto-darkening-filter welding helmetsToday, Honeywell Safety Products introduced the new HW100 and HW200 auto-darkening-filter welding helmets with shade 9-13 protection. The helmets’ innovative design combines the safety and performance of high-quality ADF filters with a sleek, lightweight helmet shell for superior comfort and increased productivity. With a light state of Shade 3 on the HW100 or Shade 4 on the HW200, these welding helmets offer a clear view of the work area during set up as well as pre- and post-fabrication activities. Immediately upon arc strike, the ADF darkens to Shade 10 on the HW100 or to a selected shade in the 9-13 range on the HW200, allowing for a consistently clear view of welds without repeatedly lifting the helmet. The HW100 and HW200 are ideally suited for part-time welders or hobbyists ready to upgrade from a standard passive filter.

“ADF helmets provide greater protection, convenience and comfort by eliminating the constant adjustments and strain involved with repeated lifting and nodding to check a weld,” said Katie Twist-Rowlinson, product manager for Honeywell Safety Products. “With these attributes at the forefront of our new design, the HW100 and HW200 allow individuals to focus on the welding job at hand rather than being distracted by their protective equipment.”

Specifically designed for convenience, comfort and durability, the HW100 helmet features solar-powered Shade 10 ADF technology and is ideal for general welding applications in operating temperatures ranging between -5°C to +55°C. For more advanced welding applications, the HW200 helmet features solar-powered, adjustable Shade 9-13 ADF technology as well as sensitivity and delay adjustments for customizable filter settings. Ideal for experienced welders in operating temperatures between -10°C and +55°C, the HW200 also offers Grind Mode functionality that ensures the ADF will not darken when used during clean-up work.

Both models feature an easy-to-use ratchet adjustment system for a customized fit as well as a replaceable, padded sweatband for long-term comfort. The helmets accommodate a wide variety of safety eyewear and respiratory products for convenient combination use. The HW100 and HW200 are both certified to the requirements of ANSI Z87.1-2010, CSA Z94.3 and EN379 standards and come with a two-year warranty on the auto-darkening filter.

Honeywell HW100 and HW200 ADF welding helmets are available now through major safety equipment distributors in the Americas. Contact the Honeywell Safety Products customer care department at 800-430-5490 for more information about Honeywell welding helmets and where they may be purchased.
