Cal Ripken, Jr. new spokesman for Northern Safety

September 26, 2013

Cal Ripken Jr.Salvatore Longo, Owner and CEO of Frankfort, NY-based Northern Safety, has announced that National Baseball Hall of Famer, Cal Ripken, Jr. is the new spokesman for the Company.

Cal Ripken, Jr. played Major League Baseball for the Baltimore Orioles for 21 years. During his prestigious career, Mr. Ripken played 2,632 consecutive games, breaking the record Lou Gehrig held for 56 years. His dedication and perseverance earned him the nickname “Iron Man.”

“Mr. Ripken is a perfect fit for Northern Safety. He personifies everything our company stands for and the safety message we’re committed to delivering. His 2,632-game streak represents his commitment to staying safe so he could go to work every day. That’s a commitment that everyone can relate to,” says Mr. Longo. “Mr. Ripken has the same attitude and dedication to high performance and excellence that our company has. We have amazing synergy, and I’m excited to see where this partnership takes us,” Mr. Longo continues.

“I am excited to be a part of the Northern Safety team. I have enjoyed getting to know Sal and I look forward to working with them in the years to come. Their commitment to worker safety is admirable and if I can play a role in helping them grow and spread their message of safety I am thrilled to do it,” states Mr. Ripken.

Northern Safety and Mr. Ripken have developed a Cal Ripken, Jr. Signature Series line of products, including safety eyewear and gloves. The Signature Series products will be introduced in late summer.

In addition to the newly developed product lines, Mr. Ripken will deliver video safety tips for the company. The videos will appear monthly on Northern Safety’s web site, www.northernsafety.com. The messages will give tips on how to increase safety awareness and compliance in the workplace. “The safety message is the most important message in the workplace. You can’t work if you’re on the DL,” says Mr. Ripken.

Mr. Ripken will appear in Northern Safety’s mini catalogs, as well as on their web site.
