Falls remain a leading cause of on-the-job injuries and fatalities. The ANSI/ASSP Z359 Fall Protection Code provides an overall blueprint to help prevent injuries that result when workers fall from heights. The Fall Protection Code was originally released in 2007, and updates have continued to be added in the years since its publication. The Code and its included standards provide critical management systems, requirements, and guidelines for improvement of fall protection/arrest programs, and this collection of best practices can have a significant impact on the implementation of effective safety programs.
This session provides tangible techniques and approaches to move an organization’s fall protection programs forward.
Learning outcomes:
- Explain how pending, new, and revised Z359 standards impact a fall protection program.
- Identify means and methods to improve a fall protection program and how the Z359 Fall Protection Code can assist in this process.
- Present examples of how the Z359 standards are used by various organizations to improve safety and reduce risk for work at height.
