New year, new slate of EHS conferences

Convention NewsIt’s not too early to start marking your calendar and gathering information about the professional conferences you plan on attending in 2014.

Here’s a sampling of the occupational safety and health-related conventions scheduled for this year.

March 13-15:
2014 Annual Hearing Conference in Las Vegas

The National Hearing Conservation Association (NHCA) meets at the JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa.

Workshops and sessions include:

  • The Audiogram – How to Use it
  • Effective Hearing Protection
  • Hearing Conservation Regulations & HIPAA
  • Practical Noise Control

The keynote speaker will be Richard Danielson, Ph.D., NASA/Johnson Space Center. Danielson will speak on: "Hearing Loss Prevention is a Long Duration Mission."

2014 International Glove Association Symposium in Orlando

The International Glove Association (IGA) will hold its annual gathering at the Yacht Club of Disney World in Orlando Florida.

March 17-19:
2014 SPE International Conference on Health, Safety and the Environment

The Society of Petroleum Engineers will hold its conference at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center. More than 1,700 health, safety, and environment professionals, working in and beyond the oil and gas sector, are expected to attend.

This year’s theme is “The Journey Continues.” This conference is the E&P industry’s premier international event highlighting HSE best practices and challenges. The goal: to reach beyond the industry by introducing relatable presentations, special topical sessions, and networking opportunities.

May 7-9:
OS+H ASIA 2014 in Singapore

The Occupational Safety + Health Exhibition for Asia will be held at the Suntec Singapore International Exhibition and Convention Center.

OS+H Asia provides a broad and comprehensive selection of new products, technologies, services and solutions applicable in diverse industries.

2014 National Safety Conference Congress & Expo in San Diego

The conference itself will take place from Sept. 13-19, while the Expo will be from Sept. 15-17 Expo

With the conference months away, there’s little information available online yet.

However, people interested in submitting proposals for presentations (Technical Sessions and Professional Development Seminars) must do so by Friday, January 31, 2014 via this web form.
