Eyewash stations are critical emergency safety equipment intended to mitigate eye injuries when a worker has been exposed to a toxic substance, but if an eyewash station has not been properly maintained, using it could expose the worker to additional health hazards – or make the original injury worse.
The International Safety Equipment Association (ISEA) has received American National Standards Institute (ANSI) approval for ANSI/ISEA Z308.1-2015, American National Standard-Minimum Requirements for Workplace First Aid Kits and Supplies, a subsequent revision to the 2014 edition.
Members of the public and interested stakeholders are invited to provide comment on a proposed revision to the widely-accepted ANSI/ISEA 107 standard on high-visibility safety apparel. This voluntary industry consensus standard is cited in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), which is the basis for federal and state highway regulations requiring high-visibility protective garments for right-of-way workers, flaggers and adult crossing guards.
Members of the public and interested stakeholders are invited to provide comment on a proposed update to ANSI/ISEA Z87.1-2010, American National Standard for Occupational and Educational Personal Eye and Face Protection Devices.

Revised World Health Organization (WHO) technical specifications for personal protective equipment (PPE) selection add an important dimension by including performance standards to PPE selection guidelines, according to the International Safety Equipment Association (ISEA).
The International Safety Equipment Association (ISEA) is proposing to reaffirm two industry standards for gas and vapor monitoring equipment. ANSI/ISEA 102-1990 (R2009) American National Standard for Gas Detector Tube Units—Short Term Type for Toxic Gases and Vapors in Working Environments established the performance requirements for gas detector tube units and components, which detect flammable, combustible, oxygen depleting and toxic gases.
