Outside the Conference
Singapore’s rich history provides a backdrop for a variety of modern attractions. Orchard Road, originally a nutmeg and pepper plantation, is a mile-and-a-half long shopper’s paradise of high-end malls, four-star restaurants and luxury hotels.
The area’s flora and fauna can be enjoyed at the Botanic Gardens, the Zoological Gardens and the Jurong Bird Park, which is home to the world’s largest collection of Southeast Asian birds. The unique Night Safari allows visitors to ride a train or hike through a 98-acre jungle to watch nocturnal animals come alive at night in their natural habitats.
