Ergodyne introduces triple-locking carabiner tool lanyards

Ergodyne Squids LanyardsErgodyne announced today the expansion of their Squids® Lanyard Series to include the new Squids® 3109 Triple-Locking Single Carabiner Tool Lanyard and the Squids® 3119 Triple-Locking Dual Carabiner Tool Lanyard (both available in standard or extended lengths). While each lanyard has its own unique benefits and features, their triple-locking feature provides a dependable solution for preventing injury, damage and lost productivity due to dropped tools.

The 360 degree swivel allows workers to screw, twist and maneuver the lanyard without becoming a tangled and tethered mess. Tagged with Ergodyne’s stamp of security and tenacity, the lanyards offer 15 lbs. and 20 lbs. capacities, providing safe tethering for heavier tools. Additionally, the self-locking connectors ensure safe connections and reduce the chance of an inadvertent disconnection.

“The main differentiator of these new lanyards is the heavy-duty, triple-locking carabiner which provides a safe and secure connection” said Nate Bohmbach, product manager, Ergodyne. “It’s the first of its kind in the tool tethering
realm.”

Dropped objects are a serious concern that can put a workforce at risk and result in lost productivity. Whether in the worker’s hand or idle on the work surface, a dangerous dropped object situation can happen without notice. The result can range from inconvenience/loss of productivity to life-altering injury or death.

“The new triple-locking lanyards add to Ergodyne’s already robust line of dropped object solutions,” said Tom Votel, President and CEO of Ergodyne. “As a leader in objects at heights product offerings, we also are aggressively offering educational and training programs in this growing and critical category.”

Ideal for any worker with exposure to heights and a need for tethering tools, the Squids® Triple-Locking Carabiners will be showcased at the 2012 ASSE show in Denver (June 3-6) and are available June 4, 2012 at all authorized Ergodyne distributors. The Safety Selfie: It’s time to take a “snap shot” of your safety program and contemplate what others see

We all know perception is reality and that people perceive things differently. As a safety manager, your perception of your safety program almost certainly differs from that of your workers and your managers. We will use our “Safety Selfies” to expose weaknesses, real and perceived, and to talk about how best to make improvements.
