2013 National Safety Council Congress & Expo

March 6, 2013
The 2013 National Safety Council (NSC) Congress & Expo will be held in NSC’s hometown of Chicago at the McCormick Place, West Building. The Congress, with its educational slate, will run from September 28 through October 4. The sprawling Expo will run from September 30 to October 2.

The theme of this year’s Congress & Expo: “Leading Safety into the Future.”

The Congress & Expo attracts more than 13,000 safety, health and environmental professionals. They network day and night to discuss the most recent and pressing issues in the EHS world. Professionals also hone and expand their skills by attending educational workshops and courses on safety’s toughest challenges.

More than 900 vendors from around the world display their wares on the exposition floor. The expo serves as a comprehensive overview of product and service developments in the EHS world.

For more than 100 years, professionals have turned to this event for industry-leading technology, education, networking opportunities and the tried and true products and services needed to stay at the forefront and remain competitive within the industry.

In 2010, NSC introduced the Journey to Safety Excellence philosophy, which can help you and your company answer the following questions regarding its current safety program:

l Where are you now – and where do you want to be?

l How will you move forward?

l How do you manage your improvement and measure your progress?

Congress is designed to build awareness of the tools available to you and your organization as you continue down the path to safety excellence.

The NSC Congress & Expo experience offers:

Educational Opportunities

Attendees don’t have to hunt through blogs for perspectives on trends and best practices — they can choose from a host of carefully selected opportunities led by verified safety experts. And, because safety challenges come in all shapes and sizes, presenters make time for Q&A at the end.

Technical Sessions

Participate in more than 130 technical sessions, selected by a team that has hands-on knowledge of the latest industry trends providing the most comprehensive information needed to face today’s challenges.

Professional Development Seminars

Participate in more than 30 seminars providing in-depth, hands-on opportunities to focus on continued professional growth.

The Expo Floor

Explore the Expo floor offering 190,000 net square feet of more than 900 companies showcasing the latest innovative products and services. You’ll also find the New Product Showcase area, the Solutions Center, OSHA’s Top 10 most cited safety violations and solutions from the International Safety Equipment Association.

Who attends and why?

The NSC Congress & Expo attracts decision-makers, end users and distributors from a wide variety of industries including: manufacturing, construction, petrochemical and utilities. Coming from the United States, Canada and more than 60 other countries, these individuals range in experience from entry level to seasoned safety professionals representing companies such as Boeing, Schneider Electric, BP, Industrial Scientific, Kimberly Clark, URS, RockTenn Norcross, Fruit of the Loom and more.

The Campbell Institute

The Campbell Institute was built upon one belief:  that Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) is at the core of business vitality. We understand that EHS is fundamental to operational and financial performance, and we seek to help organizations, of all sizes and sectors, achieve and sustain excellence. The Institute’s true power lies in the sharing of proven knowledge, actionable solutions and best practices from leading-edge organizations worldwide.

Presenting the 2013 Executive Edge Track

Focusing this year on EHS, Sustainability, and Enterprise Risk Management, the 2013 Executive Edge Track will feature both insightful presentations from world-class organizations and hands-on workshops that arm participants with practical, actionable knowledge they can implement immediately.  From high-level strategy to nitty-gritty tactics, the 2013 Executive Edge Track offers a truly unique opportunity to share with and learn from your peers. We look forward to seeing you there.
