With the topic “Safe Development, Prevention First,” COS+H 2010 - 5th China International Occupational Safety & Health Exhibition – recently ended successfully in Beijing. More than 15,000 visits were recorded during the three-day event where more than 200 exhibitors from 13 countries showcased their latest products on 193,700 square feet of exhibit space. COS+H 2010 was jointly organized by Messe Düsseldorf China, the National Center for International Exchange & Cooperation on Work Safety P.R. China and the State Administration of Work Safety – with the support of national and international association such as the International Labor Organization and the National Safety Council (USA). Since its first staging in 2002, COS+H has become the largest occupational safety and health trade fair in the Asia-pacific region.

Exhibiting nations at COS+H 2010 included Australia, Canada, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Great Britain, Japan, South Korea and the U.S., with non-Chinese exhibitors accounting for 34% of the total exhibitor participation. Renowned exhibiting companies included 3M, ABB, Cheng’an, China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation, China National Offshore Oil Corporation, Draeger, DuPont, Honeywell, Kimberly, MSA, OSH China, Schneider, Shanghai HuaPeng, Shanghai Tai Hsiung, Sichuan Academy of Safety Science and Technology, Siemens, Sinopec, Sperian, SYSBEL and Tyco.

COS+H 2010 attracted visitors groups from international associations such as the Japan Society for the Promotion of Industrial Safety and Health, the South Korea Protection Supplies Association and the Russia Federal Labor Force and Employment Service Bureau as well as a EU delegation. From China, more than 40 institutions and large enterprises took part.

COS+H 2010 featured several special exhibit zones showcasing key sectors in China’s safety production technology equipment industry such as anti-explosion products, PPE supplies, mining safety technology equipment, safety production monitoring instruments, emergency rescue technologies and special vehicles. For the first time, an outdoor zone was set up to demonstrate emergency rescue technologies, products, and equipments.

The exhibits were supported by the Fifth China International Forum on Work Safety, which was jointly organized by the State Administration of Work Safety and the International Labor Organization. Topics addressed included “Safety Production Automatic Control Technology and Professional Equipment,” “The Situation and Development of Mine Rescue Technology and Equipment” and “The Function and Significance of Enhancing Promotion and Implementation of the Standards for Labor Protection Products.”
