COS+H 2012 established as Asia’s no. 1 work safety trade fair

December 6, 2012

With 281 exhibitors from 15 countries and 20,554 visitors from around the world, the recent staging of COS+H 2012, 6th China International Occupational Safety & Health Exhibition, established the event as the leading trade fair for the work safety sector in Asia. In its 10-year history, COS+H has grown rapidly from 53,800 square feet of exhibit space at the first edition to 238,800 square feet at the 6th edition this year.

Exhibitors at COS+H 2012 included internationally renowned companies such as Honeywell, 3M, Dupont, Dräger, RAE KLH, Ansell, Delta, UVEX and Capital Safety as well as leading domestic companies such as Shanghai Huapeng, Yihe Group, Saina Group, BaiAnDa, Jon Long Safety Wear, Tangwear and Shanghai Hima. All exhibitors showcased a comprehensive range of equipment and technology for personal protection, mine safety, handling of dangerous chemicals as well as emergency response.

Attendees at COS+H 2012 included several trade visitor delegations. The Beijing Administration of Work Safety organized a large group of about 2,000 from relevant companies in Beijing, the Tianjin Administration of Work Safety had a group of over 400 occupational safety and health management professionals from the Tianjin Binhai New Area while the Henan Administration of Coal Mine Safety brought a group of experts from large coal mine companies.

The 6th China International Forum on Work Safety was held concurrently with COS+H 2012 and received positive feedback from the industry. With the topic “People First, Safe Development”, this forum attracted Chinese and foreign government officials, researchers and company leaders for an international knowledge exchange on work safety.

According to surveys, the majority of the visitors and exhibitors were pleased with their participation in COS+H 2012. Visitors stated the well-organized site management, large exhibition scale and multitude of exhibits while the exhibitors praised the trade fair as a premier communication platform for high-quality business with new and existing customers.

Lai Youzhuan, Group Expert of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation, commented: “It was only two months from our confirmation to participate to the start of the exhibition, but the organizer arranged everything well and helped us very much with the preparations. We saw many quality target visitors and are very satisfied.”

Chang Hong, Manager of Product Management & Marketing Dept. of Dräger Safety Equipment (China) Co., Ltd., added: “I have been working for Dräger for more than 10 years. Our company has participated in all the previous COS+H exhibitions. I remembered that in the first COS+H in 2002, we only occupied an exhibition area of several hundred square feet. But this year we booked an area of nearly 2,150 square feet. Obviously, we are growing with COS+H. We are very grateful for this platform where we can witness the prosperous development of this industry in China.”

Liu Shibo, Vice President of Shanghai Huapeng Explosion-proof Technology Co., Ltd./Hebei Hua'an Tiantai Explosion-proof Technology Co., Ltd., summarized: “You can see that our booth is the largest and most eye-catching one at COS+H 2012, because we brought our best products to demonstrate our domestic brands’ own R&D ability. COS+H is a perfect platform for the industry players. Here we can do business and get new contacts, discuss industrial trends and exchange ideas. We are looking forward to being part of it again.”

The next staging of COS+H will be in September 2014 in Beijing.
