Earth Day poll finds solar power the U.S. favorite (4/27)

Solar power was the top choice of Americans who were asked what they would prefer as a supplier of their home electricity, according to an IBOPE Zogby Earth Day poll.
Solar power got 27% of the vote and nuclear power – despite the recent nuclear reactor crisis in Japan – came in second, with 23%.
Just 8% report that some portion of their home's electric power is currently supplied by alternative sources such as wind or solar. In the interactive poll, conducted from April 21-25, 80% of U.S. adults say they routinely recycle paper, plastics, glass and other recyclable materials.
