New officers elected to ISHM board of directors

October 26, 2015

The Institute for Safety and Health Management (ISHM), provider of the accredited Certified Safety and Health Manager (CSHM), announces a new slate of officers to lead the Board of Directors’ Executive Committee.

During ISHM’s annual board meeting, held Sept. 27, 2015, in Atlanta, Ga., Chairman of the Board was transferred from Randy Morton to John Principe III, whose term expires in 2017. Morton will continue to serve as the Immediate Past Chairman.

Principe, CSHM, is the Executive Director of Environmental Health and Safety for West Virginia University.

Other elected positions confirmed by the ISHM Board of Directors for a two-year term include:

Cory Worden, Vice Chair, CSHM, is the Manager of System Safety for Memorial Hermann Healthcare, Houston. He was recently named one of NSC’s Rising Stars of Safety, an elite group of young safety professionals who have demonstrated leadership, innovation, and continuous safety improvement in the workplace. In addition, ISHM named Worden its Safety Management Professional of the Year in 2014.

Jan Rosenberg, Treasurer, CSHM, is Deputy Administrator, Nevada Division of Industrial Relations, Las Vegas. He works directly with the Chief Administrative Officers of each of the Division’s four sections to administer OSHA enforcement and training, OSHA consultation and training, mine safety and training, and workers’ compensation regulation for the State of Nevada. He has more than 30 years of experience in safety, risk management, and insurance. Rosenberg has served in various capacities on the ISHM Board of Directors since the organization’s inception.

Joe DeMaria, Secretary, CSHM, is a business executive and author with multiple degrees, certifications, and many years of experience in safety and human factors engineering. He is President and CEO of Americana Safety, a consulting and litigation support firm, which was recently awarded the 2015 Business Excellence Award from the Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce. The company also received commendation certificates from U.S. Senators Harry Reid (D-NV) and Dean Heller (R-NV).
