Milliken & Company announced Sept. 9 that it is acquiring Springfield LLC, a manufacturer of technical, performance, and flame-resistant fabrics for the safety apparel, fire service, military, and occupational markets. Family-owned Springfield is based in Jericho, N.Y. and has manufacturing facilities in Gaffney and Lyman, S.C.
