Pelican™ appoints Sunil Malhotra as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Operations

Pelican ProductsPelican Products, Inc. the global leader in the design and manufacture of both high-performance protective case solutions and advanced portable lighting systems, has appointed Sunil Malhotra as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Operations. "Sunil’s proven track record of operational success will be an valuable edge as we continue to produce the world class products and services that our customers expect and rely upon,” said John Padian, COO, Pelican Products. “His varied experience will be an integral part of Pelican’s growth as the company’s Commercial, Consumer and BioThermal divisions expand in the coming years.” 

As Senior Vice President of Worldwide Operations, Malhotra will provide leadership for the company’s overall manu facturing and supply chain operations, procurement, manufacturing engineering and quality initiatives at the global level. His first order of business will be to work with Pelican’s operations team to further design world class manufacturing operations that support the fast-paced and ever-changing needs of the consumer market. Long term, Malhotra will focus on introducing new technologies, automation and best in class operations processes to drive and improve Pelican's competitive edge in the plastics manufacturing industry.

Prior to joining Pelican, Malhotra worked for two years as the Director of Global Manufacturing Strategy, Operational Excellence and Program Management at Johnson Controls, a Fortune-500 multi-industrial company.  Prior to Johnson Controls, he spent 13 years at Schneider Electric, a European multinational company as its Vice President of Operations Strategy and Deployment and V.P. of Global Manufacturing Operations. In this role, Malhotra implemented operations strategies to increase value creation across the organization with a strong focus on customers, people and processes. He made significant contributions to improve customer experience, grow revenue and increase productivity of a $1.2 billion business unit for a global manufacturing network of 8 plants and more than 2,000 employees. He has heavy international experience in the transformation of global companies with particular emphasis on China and Mexico.
Malhotra holds a Master of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cal State University Fullerton and an MBA from University of Redlands.
