Women’s unique safety glasses win first place for innovation at Safety 2016 Show

July 18, 2016

Metro safety glassesSafety professionals attending the Safety 2016 show in Atlanta voted Metro™ safety glasses as a favorite among products competing for innovation. The safety glasses, which feature a bold pink camo frame pattern, tied for first place in the ‘Eye/Face Protection - Plano Safety Spectacles’ category of the Attendee Choice Awards. This is the second award this year for Metro Pink Camo, which also won in the ISHN Readers’ Choice Awards.

Metro safety glasses in pink camo, which was introduced to the market this year in February, have been a popular addition to Gateway Safety’s GirlzGear® products, a line uniquely tailored for women. As any wearer of safety products knows, one size and style does not fit all. GirlzGear products have become an important offering of products for any company with women employees who need eye protection.

“I’m always looking for continuous improvements of products,” said one Health, Safety and Environmental Coordinator out of Atlanta. “I received a pair of the pink camo safety glasses…and I absolutely LOVE them! They are the most lightweight, comfortable safety glasses I’ve ever placed on my face.”

GirlzGear was developed to both fit women better than traditional products, and appeal to women with more stylish options. Tailoring the size and design of safety eyewear for women can help reduce gaps and increase coverage around the eyes to prevent eye injuries. And making it stylish improves compliance. As the numbers of women in the workforce grow, so too does the popularity of GirlzGear safety equipment.

Metro – along with all other GirlzGear eyewear products – is third-party certified by UL to meet the ANSI Z87.1+ high impact standard, and also meets the ballistic impact resistance requirements for eyewear in US Military Performance Specification MIL PRF-31013.
