Effective immeditately, Tyco Gas & Flame Detection is replacing the iTrans with the iTrans2 and is discontinuing the manufacture and sale of the iTrans gas detector. 

The iTrans2 was launched in June 2013 and represents a significant enhancement to the original design by bringing optional HART Communication Protocol and Infrared sensors while keeping all existing features. 

The iTrans2 and the existing iTrans share the same replacement sensors (sensors manufactured after March 2013, except infrared sensors, which are available on the iTrans2 only). In addition, configuration menus are the same on the two devices, making maintenance easier for those already using the iTrans. 

The iTrans2 carries CSA, ATEX, IECEx, INMETRO, NEPSI, and CCCF approvals.
