Uvex HydroShield® anti-fog lens coating now available on full range of Honeywell safety eyewear

Industry leading anti-fog coating eliminates fog 90X longer and delivers 2X greater scratch resistance; now available on more than 115 eye protection products

Honeywell
June 13, 2017

Honeywell (NYSE: HON) announced today that it has expanded the availability of its Uvex HydroShield anti-fog lens coating -- the industry leading anti-fog and scratch resistance technology – to its Uvex Seismic and North Adaptec safety eyewear styles.

The expansion means that workers can now enjoy a safe, fog-free, scratch-free view from every type of Uvex eye protection, including more than 115 SKUs of safety spectacles, sealed eyewear, goggles and OTGs from Honeywell. See how HydroShield’s advanced, dual-action chemistry works in this new video: uvex.us/hydroshield.

“Fogging lenses are almost impossible to avoid – and when workers can’t see clearly, they’re not safe,” said Wanda Sanchez-Miller, senior product marketing manager for Honeywell Industrial Safety. “By making HydroShield available across all eye protection types, we afford workers everywhere the long lasting, reliable, fog-free vision they need.”

Uvex HydroShield eliminates fogging 90X longer* than the majority of other anti-fog products and delivers 2X greater scratch resistance** than the next-best Uvex anti-fog coating.

Designed for hassle-free longevity, HydroShield is permanently bonded to the lens, requires no application and no maintenance, and remains effective for more than 25 washings. It’s available on a wide variety of lens tints to protect from harmful light hazards and in ballistic impact protection models for use among high-impact hazards. View the complete line-up of Uvex HydroShield offerings here.

Uvex HydroShield significantly exceeds the European EN166 standard, the most stringent anti-fog standard in the world. All HydroShield anti-fog coated products meet ANSI Z87.1-2015 and are certified to the requirements of the CSA Z94.3 standards, except Hypershock. Genesis, Genesis XC and Protégé eyewear also meet the military ballistic impact resistance requirements for eyewear (MIL-PRF-31013, CLAUSE 3.5.1.1). All Uvex lenses offer 99.9% ultraviolet protection.

Uvex HydroShield anti-fog coated safety eyewear from Honeywell is available now through major safety equipment distributors in the Americas. Contact the Honeywell Industrial Safety customer care department at 800-430-5490 (U.S.) or 888-212-7233 (Canada) for more information. Uvex brand safety eyewear is offered for sale by Honeywell Industrial Safety exclusively in the Americas. More information about the complete family of Uvex safety eyewear is available at www.uvex.us.

*Uvex HydroShield performance is based on independent lab tests when compared to median test results of other Uvex anti-fog coated products under the EN166 and EN168 testing standards.

** Comparative lens life test performed using a Bayer Abrasion Test method and may vary between environment and application.
