CleanSpace Technology, a global manufacturer of powered air purifying respiratory protection, today released its CleanSpace2 Power Unit Respirator Trial Kit designed to provide organizations in the construction industry with high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter protection to help meet the OSHA 29 CFR 1926.1153 Respirable Crystalline Silica in Construction and OSHA 29 CFR 1910 General Industry regulations.

The new OSHA silica regulations become effective September 23, 2017 requiring construction companies to lower permissible exposure to silica to one-fifth of its current exposure within one year.

“The CleanSpace2 Trial Kit is an opportunity for construction companies and contractors to experience the difference of our powered air purifying respirators delivering enhanced protection, comfort and cost savings,” commented Alex Birrell, CEO at CleanSpace Technologies. “The common complaints that powered-air purifying respiratory masks are bulky, expensive and require extensive maintenance are remedied with the CleanSpace 2. Safety managers and workers will discover that CleanSpace masks provide a higher APF of 50 (Assigned Protection Factor) when engineering controls are not feasible or N95 respirators are insufficient, while being cost effective and very comfortable to wear even in hot, humid conditions.”

According to OSHA, 2.3 million workers are exposed to respirable crystalline silica in their workplaces, including two million construction workers who drill, cut, crush, or grind silica-containing materials such as concrete and stone, and 300,000 workers in general industry operations such as brick manufacturing, foundries, and hydraulic fracturing, known as fracking.

The CleanSpace2 Trial Kits are a complete ready to use system and include:

  • CleanSpace2 Power Unit
  • HEPA Particulate Filer
  • Filter Adaptor
  • Half Masks (small, medium and large)
  • Storage and Cleaning Plug Set
  • CleanSpace Backpack
  • Disposable Covers (pack of 25)

Trial Kits can be purchased through the CleanSpace distributor network (for lists in your area email: sales@cleanSpacetechnology.com) or ordered online at http://cleanspacetechnology.com/us/trialkit/ and have a MSRP of $667.00.  For demonstrations of the Kit, the CleanSpace team will be on hand at the National Safety Congress September 25 – 27, 2017 at Booth #4952.
