Driver flees after causing construction workers to end up in trench
A bizarre early morning accident in San Diego last week left two construction workers with serious injuries and ended with a motorist on the lam.
The incident in the Bay Ho neighborhood of the city began at 12:30 a.m., when a motorist struck and dragged a hose near a construction site. The hose then dragged two construction workers into a trench. News reports say one worker suffered fractured ribs, while the second had a broken hand.
The driver initially stopped, but when he was confronted by other workers who told him what happened, he fled the scene.
Police are still searching for the driver.
