Employees at a Pennsylvania carpentry framing company performed their work without fall or head protection, according to OSHA, which has cited Strong Construction, Inc. for two willful and five serious safety and health violations. The Bensalem company, which specializes in commercial and industrial construction, faces $213,318 in fines.

In addition to the lack of protective equipment, inspectors found untrained employees operating powered industrial trucks; work site safety inspections not being performed; and a lack of fire extinguishers for flammable liquid storage.

“Despite numerous warnings of potential hazards, this employer continually disregarded required safety procedures, and put employees at risk for serious or fatal injuries,” Jean Kulp, OSHA Area Office Director, in Allentown.

From the Strong Construction website:

“We base our professionalism on the principles of honesty and integrity. Our goal is to build relationships with our customers through service, and with subcontractors and vendors through team work.”
