Gateway Safety introduces new hybrid, foam-lined eye protection with OptiFit™ foam technology

Gateway Safety
June 20, 2018

Answering a market need for better foam-lined, hybrid eye protection, Gateway Safety introduces Silverton™ safety eyewear. Silverton provides two product options for dust protection. A temples-only version offers the comfort and convenience of safety glasses.  For more of a goggle-like seal around the eyes, the adjustable head strap version is an additional product option within the Silverton line.

“Workers in dusty environments wearing traditional safety glasses are still facing challenges with dust and debris getting into the eyes,” said Gateway Safety Vice President Matthew Love. “This has caused the demand for foam-lined safety eyewear to continue to grow. We are excited to introduce this new product, which includes a comfortable foam lining plus some of our own unique features and benefits.”

Silverton features Gateway Safety’s revolutionary OptiFit™ foam, a soft, tapered foam that provides better protection around the eyes. OptiFit foam is designed to increase in height along the sides of the lens, where gaps often allow dust and debris to enter and irritate the eye. Venting channels along the foam also help minimize fogging.

With a light silver frame and foam color, Silverton offers a modern style. Plus this cost-effective foam-lined product comes with Gateway Safety’s quality assurance – it is independently, third-party tested by UL to meet ANSI Z87+ and CSA Z94.3.  And like most Gateway Safety eye protection, Silverton meets the ballistics impact section of the military standard (MIL PRF-32432 (GL)).
