Nebraska Congressman honored for OSH efforts
His leadership has a "bipartisan spirit"
U.S. Congressman Don Bacon’s (R-NE) efforts to help protect the nation’s workers have won him recognition from the International Safety Equipment Association (ISEA) in the form of a Legislative Leadership Award. The award was presented to Bacon on February 26.
ISEA established the award to recognize outstanding leadership by members of the U.S. Congress in enhancing worker safety and health. Bacon currently serves on the House Armed Services Committee, House Small Business Committee, and House Agricultural Committee. ISEA Board Member Brian Myers, Business Director – Personal Safety Division, for 3M, based in St. Paul, MN, presented the Award.
The ISEA award honors Bacon for:
- His leadership and continued efforts, in a bipartisan spirit, to protect workers;
- Supporting the effort to include respiratory protection into the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness (PREP) Act.
“We are delighted that ISEA’s Board of Trustees has chosen Congressman Bacon to receive the 2019 Legislative Leadership Award,” stated ISEA President Charles Johnson. “He has been a consistent supporter in keeping workers out of harm’s way.”
