The industrial safety helmet enhanced with integrated sensor technology becomes a reality as Båstadgruppen’s Guardio brand launches the new Armet PRO helmet equipped with Quin.
The first of its kind, this sets a new standard for the safety offered by a helmet — one that can sense what is happening to it — detecting falls and impacts, discerning the likely consequences — and automatically call for help if necessary — reducing the consequences of accidents through fast response.
The sophisticated Quin system is seamlessly incorporated alongside the Mips® technology in the new Guardio Armet PRO model, delivering the ultimate standard in safety features. The intelligent sensor enables the helmet to accurately measure motion and forces in three dimensions, 1,000 times per second. It vigilantly monitors the safety of the wearer and in the event of a fall, an object falling from height or any other type of impact, analyzes what has happened across a inrange of parameters to determine whether help is needed.
lf the safety threshold is breached, via the wearer's cell connection, the Quin system sends out an automatic alert to the registered contacts detailing the location and nature of the detected event.
The Armet Pro with Quin can also track a worker’s timely return to a safe zone, sending out emergency alerts in the event the worker does not return as expected.
The development of the Armet PRO is made possible by carefully conducted processes that combine scientific testing and close communication with end users. In the development process of the current Armet helmet, Guardio gained invaluable insights from end users from the construction company Arcona, part of Veidekke – one of Scandinavia's largest construction contractors. By working closely together, Guardio has and will gain invaluable insights that drive continuous improvement in the development of the next product.
“We are excited to be a part of the development process for the Armet PRO. Safety is a top priority for us, and collaborating with Guardio to test and evaluate the new helmet allows us to contribute valuable insights to ensure the highest level of safety and performance. We look forward to seeing how this product can enhance safety on our construction sites." – Björn Nauclér, Health Safety Manager, Arcona.
Guardio protective equipment is developed with the goal of taking safety to new heights through scientific research and innovation. Guardio was the first brand to launch a safety helmet with Mips® brain protection system for industrial safety helmets, and now takes the innovation available within its range to the next level.
”It’s incredibly exciting to collaborate with our strategic partners, Mips, that provide technical solutions aiming to reduce the risk of brain injuries, and Quin, to create even better products that, again sets a new standard in our industry. Together, we are working towards our vision of zero fatalities in the construction and industrial sectors,” – Nawar Toma, Category Manager, Guardio.
PPE as a smart wearable device is no longer a futuristic aspiration, but available in 2025 at Båstadgruppen in the Guardio Armet PRO with technologies from Mips® and Quin within.
